Abstract

891,665. Sliding-clasp fasteners. YOSHIDA, T. Dec. 4, 1959 [Dec. 12, 1958], No. 41368/59. Class 44. A hidden separable sliding-clasp fastener comprises a pair of tapes 10, 11 each having a series of elements 14 secured along a longitudinal, folded back edge portion of the tape, plugs 17 and 18 respectively fixed to one pair of adjacent ends of the tapes, a socketed member 20 fixed to the plug 18 for removably holding the plug 17, and a slider 16 for engaging or disengaging the elements 14. The tapes 10, 11 are provided with beads 12, 13, respectively, and the plugs 17, 18, which are formed from sheet metal, enclose the beaded ends of the tapes. The plug 18 is formed with recesses 23 for engaging projections in the socketed member 20 to prevent withdrawal of the plug 18 from the socket, and the plug 17 and the mouth of the socket are tapered to facilitate insertion into and withdrawal from the socket of the plug 17. The socketed member 20 is made of metal or hard resin.
