891,008. Shovelling machines. BERGBAUMASCHINEN SEEHAUSEN VEB. May 11, 1959, No. 16074/59. Class 68(1). In an overthrow shovelling machine, the scoop I is pivotally mounted at 3 on the end of arms 5 in turn pivotally mounted at 8 on the chassis of the machine, and the scoop and arms are so associated with a fluidactuated jack 9, 10 that the scoop is, in moving from a forward loading position to a rear discharge position, pivoted about a first pivot axis, e.g. the pivots at 3, and then about a second pivot axis, e.g. the pivots at 8, as shown in the Figure. In another embodiment a pinion on the scoop engages a rack on the chassis, a jack extends between the scoop and the chassis, and an extension on the scoop engages in a bearing block on the chassis to form a lever for the final overswinging of the scoop after first upswinging of the scoop is caused by the rack and pinion as the jack is contracted.
