[Also in Group XXVII] An ignition coil comprises a primary winding b, a secondary winding d, a pilot winding e, and a control winding f all mounted on an iron core a, the function of the pilot winding being to effect excitation of the control winding by an intermittent current supplied through an interrupter and the function of the control winding being to control a transistor through which energizing current is supplied to the primary winding. The number of turns for the windings is specified (see also Group XXVII).
