Abstract
887,088. Bolted joints. ALLISON, T. G., and INDUSTRIAL ABRASIVES Ltd. May 27, 1960 [Aug. 31, 1959], No. 29615/59. Class 83 (4). An interchangeable renewable supporting device suitable for moulds and press tools comprises a pillar 1 having a tapered end which fits within a corresponding tapered opening provided in a bush 2 which is mounted in a plate 3 with a press-fit and a screwthreaded member 4 screws into the pillar or bush and serves to draw the tapered end into the tapered opening. The bore of the bush may be enlarged to enable a washer to be placed under the bolt head. In a modification a collar 5 is located in a recess 6 in the bush and the bolt 4 screws into the collar, Fig. 4. A stud may be substituted for the bolt in which case the recess 7 in the top of the pillar is not required.
