Abstract

886,277. Crop dusting. WESTON, H. W. March 9, 1960 [Dec. 9, 1958], No. 39582/58. Class 6(1). [Also in Group XXIX] A spraying boom 8 is pivotally mounted on arms 2 which are raised and lowered hydraulically, chains 12 restraining the boom rearwardly of the free position which it tends to adopt under gravity. The spraying angle of nozzles 9 is adjusted by adjusting the length of the chains. Outboard portions 6, 7 are pivoted about axes which lie alongside the sides 14 of the centre portion 5 and tie rods 15 interconnect the outer portions to the centre portion. For stowage the tie rods 15 are disconnected and the outer portions are pivoted rearwardly and fixed to attachment points located in a spray tank 10.
