Abstract

886,171. Coat and like hangers; skirt hangers. JONES, E. C. R. Aug. 23, 1960 [March 18, 1960], No. 9677/60. Class 52(5) A hanger for supporting a jacket and a skirt or the like comprises a tubular yoke having a central arcuate part a, to which a suspension hook b is secured, and inclined ends c, waistband-engaging members f having shanks d slidably mounted in the ends c and being urged outwards by a spring k. The spring is anchored by the stem I of the suspension hook and detachment of the shanks is prevented, and travel thereof restricted, by engagement of shoulders i on the flats g with internal projections in the ends c. In a modification a slot in each shank is engaged by transverse pins in the ends c.
