Abstract
886,159. Floors; roofs. ATLAS STONE CO. Ltd. Dec. 2, 1959 [Sept. 5, 1958], No. 28605/58 Class 20(4) In a floor or roof comprising concrete cast in situ on permanent shuttering, the shuttering consists of inverted channels 2 of asbestoscement supported by spaced concrete beams 1. The channels are of U-section with limbs 3 inclined outwardly from the base of the U, and have a roughened outer surface and a smooth inner surface. The channels are laid end-to-end and a concrete block is fitted inside the junction of each pair of abutting channels so that it extends a short distance into each channel. In a modification the junction blocks are omitted and the channels have end walls or webs. Reinforcement is laid over the shuttering before the concrete is cast.
