Abstract

885,106. Flue terminals. GAS COUNCIL. Oct. 12, 1960 [Oct. 21, 1959], No. 35714/59. Class 25. A flue terminal comprises an inverted truncated conical tube having at its lower end a part arranged to be fixed to the end of a flue pipe and at its upper, wider end a conical annular flange extending outwards and towards its lower end, a circular cover attached coaxially to but spaced from the upper end of the tube and a number of annular conical rings fixed between the cover and the flange, the angle of the conicity of the rings being greater than that of the flange. The inverted conical tube 1 has a tube 2 and socket 3 attached to its lower end for location of the flue terminal and the conical annular flange 5 attached to its upper end. The conical annular rings 6 are secured above the flange by spaced webs 7 secured to the tube 1 which webs also support the upper circular cover 4. The distance between the upper end of the tube 1 and the cover is substantially equal to half the internal diameter of the narrower end of the tube 1, the length of which is substantially equal to the internal diameter of its narrower end.
