Abstract
A pharmaceutical composition useful as a prean sthetic medicament and antifibrillatory agent, comprises a solid non-toxic carrier and, as active ingredient, 1-(2-diethylaminoethyl)-5-ethyl-5-phenyl barbituric acid or a water-soluble salt thereof. It may be in unit dosage form, e.g. a tablet, capsule or rectal suppository containing at least 10 mg. of the active ingredient and conventional diluents and/or excipients.
