Class 52(1) A shelf or rack assembly comprises pairs of tubular uprights 7 the uprights of each pair. being joined by end panels 8 and the front uprights of adjacent pairs being connected by shelf bearers 9 having a single flange 17, Fig. 4, or parallel flanges 13, 14, Fig. 2, taking into a slot or slots in the front uprights, the parts being held assembled by screws or bolts 15. Instead of flanges 13, 14 being perpendicular to the web of the channel-shaped bearer, they may be downwardly inclined, the slots being formed at a corresponding angle.
