Abstract

883,355. Filtering gases. FISCHER, G. April 28, 1959 [May 3, 1958], No. 14412/59. Class 8(2). Shaking to effect cleaning of a plurality of outward flow dust-laden vertical gas filter sleeves 8 of elongated cross-section each secured at their lower open ends to a stationary horizontal frame 6 within a chamber 1 and at their upper closed ends to a movable frame 10 is effected by gyrating said frame 10 by a motor driven eccentric 11 and simultaneously producing reciprocating movements in directions inclined to the plane of the frame 10 using the reaction forces afforded by a plurality of vertical rods 13, only one of which is shown, having spring joint connections 14, 15 with the frame 10 and the side of the chamber 1 respectively. Heavy spacing bars 17 serve to increase the amplitude of vibrations transversely of the wide sides of the sleeves.
