Class 112 [Also in Group XXVIV] A lubricating device comprises a member 59 vibrating in sympathy with the vibrations of a sewing machine or the like to which it is attached, the member serving to convey lubricant from a reservoir 50 up to a fixed block 62 from whence it is delivered to the machine. A shaft 15 in a bushing 13 rotates a counterweight 20 carrying a hollow crank pin 21 in which is journalled the shank 22 of a sleeve 23 driving a needle thread take-up lever 24 journalled on a fixed hollow pin 25. Embracing the pin 21 is a link 26 for reciprocating a needle bar 28 in a gate 29. The gate 29 is mounted on a rock shaft 30 journalled in bearings 31. A wick 41 leads oil to the pin 25 from a sump 40. A radial port 42 admits oil to the bushing 13 and seepage therefrom oils the pin 21 and the sleeve 23. Excess oil collects in a cavity 44 and is conveyed by a wick 45 to the bearings 31. The block 59 vibrating with a spring 55 raises oil on to the block 62 whence it is carried by a wick 65 to replenish the sump 40.
