Abstract
882,922. Vapour burners. VALOR CO. Ltd. Sept. 13, 1960 [Sept. 18, 1959], No. 31825/59. Class 75(1) A vapour burner comprises two concentric fuel troughs 5, 6 containing wicks 8 and surmounted by spaced perforated sleeves 7 forming outer and inner annular combustion chambers 9, the inner sleeve of the outer combustion chamber and the outer sleeve of the inner combustion chamber resting on a sheet metal ring 12 of inverted channel section having aligned openings 18, 19 in its side walls through which, at starting, the flame passes from the outer combustion chamber to the inner combustion chamber. The wick 8 of the outer combustion chamber is ignited by an igniter introduced through an opening 16 in the outermost sleeve 7; the opening is closed by a door 17. The sheet metal ring 12 rests in an annular well in the base of the burner and has holes 15 for the passage of air tubes 14 extending upwardly from the well into the space between the two combustion chambers.
