An animal trap comprises a pair of jaws 6, 7 pivoted about parallel axes and a trip mechanism 40 which actuates a removable spring 29 to close the jaws, the upper limb of the spring extending under the outer jaw to engage in an aperture in the inner jaw and the lower limb engaging in an aperture in the body portion of the trap. A projection 47 provided on the inner jaw 6 engages under the adjacent side 19 of the outer jaw 7 so that the pressure of the spring is transmitted to the jaw 7. Specification 763,891 is referred to.
