Abstract

881,529. Closure caps. BOWATER RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO. Ltd. Sept. 22, 1959 [Sept, 24, 1958], No. 30562/58. Class 125(3). A cap 115 is provided with a rigid frustoconical sealing surface 112 formed on a rigid annular member 110 releasably housed within the cap and having a pouring spout 113. The surface 112 seals against a flexible frustoconical seating 105, the cone angle of the sealing surface 112 being less than that of the seating which is deformed into flush contact with the surface 112 when the cap is secured over a container outlet. A centre portion 119 of the cap is removable so that the pouring spout may be reversed to protrude through the cap. In a modification the sealing surface is formed as an integral part of the cap.
