880,064. Steering trailers. CRANES (DEREHAM) Ltd. Jan. 24, 1958, No. 2526/58. Class 79(5). [Also in Group XXXII] A road vehicle bogie for supporting loads direct or for supporting the swan neck of a low loading platform (not shown) has eight pairs of wheels 9. Each pair is carried by a respective axle which is carried at the lower end of a vertically extending hydraulic piston and cylinder device 11 (see Group XXXII). The cylinder of each device 11 is rigid with the vehicle frame 1 and the piston, connected to the axle 10 is rigid with an arm 30 of a steering mechanism 31. As shown, only the first row of wheels is steerable but they may all be steerable if desired.
