Abstract
In the dyeing or printing of cellulose textile materials with a water-soluble dyestuff containing at least one dihalogeno-1 : 3 : 5-triazin-2-ylamino group in the presence of an acid-binding agent, improved fastness is obtained by after-treating with an aqueous solution of a compound containing at least one primary or secondary amino group, such as a -methylamino-acetic acid, ethylamine, diethylamine, dipropylamine, monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, dipropanolamine, aniline, 2-naphthylamine- 6-sulphonic acid, p-phenylene diamine, orthanilic acid, sulphanilic acid, ethylene diamine, 1 : 3-propylenediamine, N-(b -hydroxyethyl) ethylenediamine, triethylenetetramine, hexamethylenediamine, N-(b -aminoethyl) ethylenediamine and the sodium salt of sarcosine. The aqueous solution of the amine may contain soap or a synthetic detergent and may be applied at an elevated temperature. The dyeing or padding baths or printing pastes may contain the usual adjuvants, examples of which are given, and the acid-binding agent, or a compound liberating an acid-binding agent on heating, may be applied before, together with or after the dyestuff. Dyestuffs of the azo, anthraquinone, nitro or phthalocyanine series may be employed and in this respect many British Specifications are referred to. Examples are given. Specifications 209,723, 298,494, 467,815, 772,030, 774,925, 781,930, 785,120, 785,222, 797,946, 798,121, 805,562, 816,925, 819,585, 820,470, 826,405, 828,355, 829,042, 836,248, 837,035, 837,124, 837,985, 837,990, 838,311, 838,335, 838,336, 838,338, 838,340, 851,537, 852,120, 855,792, 863,155, 863,754 and 864,227 are referred to. p
