Abstract

877,825. Spring drum apparatus. ELECTROLUX Ltd. March 26, 1959 [April 1, 1958], No. 10573/59. Class 78 (2). [Also in Group XXVIII] A suction cleaner (see Group XXVIII) is provided with an end cover 14 which houses an electric cable reel assembly 72 comprising a housing formed by members 76, 77 which is fixed to the end cover. The cable reel 91 rotates about a fixed stepped shaft 82 and a spring 90 is secured at one end to the shaft 82 and at its other end to the reel 91. A pawl 116 is provided to retain the reel in position when the cable is unwound and this pawl is held out of engagement with a notched wheel 118 by centrifugal force when the cable is allowed to rewind under the action of the spring 90.
