Abstract

The invention comprises acid addition or mono or bis-methonium salts of compounds of the general formula <FORM:0876686/IV (b)/1> wherein A is a divalent saturated straight or branched chain aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing 2-5 carbon atoms, the radicals R when individual, are the same or different and when linked together, form with the adjacent nitrogen atom a heterocyclic ring and B is a bicyclo [2,2,2] octane ring system which is unsaturated or saturated, unsubstituted or substituted by one or more alkyl, oxo, and/or hydroxyl groups or has a benzene ring fused on to one of its sides. The compounds of the invention may be prepared by condensing a bicyclo [2,2,2] octano-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride with a N-disubstituted-aminoalkylamine, reducing the imide so formed and, if desired, reacting the 11-(o -disubstituted-aminoalkyl)-bicyclo [2,2,2] octano [2,3:31,41] pyrrolidine with an alkyl halide or treating the base with an acid.
