Abstract

876,618. Moulding fan and pump rotors. FIRTH CLEVELAND Ltd. July 2, 1957 [Dec. 7, 1956], No. 1327/61. Divided out of 876,611. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XXVI] A rotor for a transverse-flow fan or pump is formed from a number of sections, each section comprising blades 12 extending between rings 10, 13 and moulded integrally therewith from plastics material. The rotor is assembled by fitting several such sections together in axial alignment, with the rings 13 of one section and projections 14 thereon fitting respectively into an annular groove 11 and into holes 15 on an adjacent section. Each section is moulded in one piece by means of a pair of axially movable dies. One die has fingers which extend through apertures 16 in the ring 10 to define the central parts of the blades 12. Fingers on the other die extend past the ring 13 on either side of it to define the inner and outer parts of the blades 12. Specifications 876,612 and 876,613 are referred to.
