Abstract

876,293. Two-part couplings. RENDAR INSTRUMENTS Ltd. Jan. 26, 1959 [Jan. 27, 1958], No. 2621/58. Class 38 (1). A cable terminating connector, e.g. a jack plug for connecting to a screened cable, comprises a hollow metal cylindrical body 1, screw-threaded at 2, a clamping member 7 with lugs 8 designed to fit into slots 6 in the body, and a cap 9 which screws on to the body, the tapered end 11 of the cap forcing flexible fingers 10 into clamping engagement with the cable screening and the interfitting slots and lugs preventing rotation of member 7, which would damage the cable. Body 1 is internally screw-threaded at the other end into which fits pin 3, the inner conductor of the pin being connected to the tip 4 and insulated at 5 from the rest of the plug.
