Abstract
872,660. Liquefied gas converters. BRITISH OXYGEN CO. Ltd. Aug. 12, 1959 [Aug. 15, 1958], No. 26304/58. Class 8(2). Recharging of a liquid oxygen converter 10 without depressurization thereof is effected by passing liquid oxygen through a valved duct 18 into the gas space of the converter at a pressure higher than that prevailing in the converter thereby condensing residual oxygen vapour therein. In use liquid oxygen is forced through a delivery line 12 and an evaporating coil 13 by pressure of the gas phase which is augmented by a conventional pressure build-up circuit comprising a line 15 connecting the liquid and gas spaces of the converter 10 and including an evaporating coil 21, a pressureclosing valve 17 and relief valves 16, 20.
