Abstract

871,837. Knitting-machines. NEWTON, C. G. April 21, 1958 [May 6,1957], No. 12506/58. Class 74 (2). Yarn 10 of zero tension is fed to a machine by a pair of rollers 7, 8 which periodically pull lengths of yarn from a bobbin. After a certain length of yarn has been pulled off the bobbin at a speed greater than the requirements of the machine, contact between rollers 7, 8 is broken by flat 13, and a loop 10A is blown out from between the rollers by a fan 6. When the loop 10A of the yarn has been used up by the machine, the yarn is re-engaged in between the rollers and the process is repeated.
