Abstract

870,939. Valves. HENRION, M. C. E. Jan. 7, 1958 [Dec. 18, 1957], No. 609/58. Addition to 781,373. Class 135. A butterfly valve comprising a disc 6 with an unbroken, peripheral packing ring 8 of elastic material is actuated by a shaft 5 carrying a pair of spaced cross-arms 9 each of which is fixed to the shaft at its mid point and pivotally connected at its extremities to links 12 which have pivotal connections 16 with the disc 6. The pins 16 by which the links 12 are connected to the disc 6 are secured in recesses in the disc by a cover plate 17 which is held by screws (not shown). The body 1 of the valve may be lined by a sleeve as in the parent Specification or as in Specification 811,551.
