A bonnet 1 hinged at 10 to the vehicle body 2 has side edges 3 which normally extend below the upper surface 4<SP>1</SP> of the frame members 7, 8 on which the seal 4 seats. Conical pegs 13 secured to the bonnet 1 engage in complementary recesses in the body work to locate it. Similar arrangements in which the seal is above the lower edges of the downturned flanges of a boot lid are also described.
