In an arrangement for measuring the conductivity of a solution passing through a pipe 14 in which the pipe serves as one of the electrodes, the flange 5 of an electrode 3 is clamped between a cap 4 and an insulating sheath around a conductive rod 1 and the tip of the electrode passes through the cap. A sharp rim 7 on the electrode is arranged to bite into the sheath. The electrode is mounted in a flanged sleeve 10 and fed by a concentric cable the outer conductor of which is clamped by a washer 23 to a nut 17. The flanges 12 and 15 are bolted together.
