Abstract
864,037. Mobile jib cranes. BUNYAN, T. W. Dec. 16, 1959 [Dec. 16, 1958], No. 40596/58. Class 78 (4). So that a crane 4 may be wheeled to predetermined positions on the deck of a ship or other surface, the jib 3 carries a pin 14 which engages in a fixed socket 15 about which the crane may be moved in an arc of a circle. The wheels 9 of the crane are retractable by a rack- and pinion device which may be power-operated. Fixed plates to which the crane chassis 5 may be bolted when the wheels have been retracted may be provided at several positions on the deck.
