Abstract

863,389. Lamp holders. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Aug. 6, 1959 (Aug. 19, 1958], No. 26680/58. Class 38 (1). An electrical socket with a plug receiving recess 2 in an insulating body 1 contains a slidably mounted resilient insulating sleeve 8 carrying a contact 13-14 for the plug and having resilient outwardly projecting means 9, e.g. integral therewith which, in assembly, can be snapped through an aperture 6 in the base 7 of the body 1 to abut the base 7 and limit movement of the sleeve, due to a spring 11, towards the outer end of the recess 2. Bayonet slots are formed in the recess 2, one of the slots being formed partly in the wall of the recess and partly in a contact insert 5 which has a resilient securing tongue and a tail piece 5a serving as a wiring tag. Alternatively, the body may be of conducting material and serve as one connection with the plug, the other connection being the contact 13-14 which has a wire 15a clinched to it.
