Abstract

861,615. Check valves. BOSCH G.m.b.H., R. March 25, 1959 [April 5, 1958], No. 10264/59. Class 135. A clack valve, suitable as a suction valve for a refrigerator compressor, comprises a plate 5 of elastic material, said plate being apertured to define two flexible strips 8, 9 which are hairpinshaped and arranged symmetrically side-by-side with their adjacent shank ends supporting a movable valve closure member 10. This member 10 is conveniently formed in one piece with the plate 5, the plate being clamped between a cylinder head 3 and a cylinder body 1 of the compressor so that the member 10 covers a suction port 11 in the head, the apertured portion of the plate 5 which defines the strips 8, 9 being disposed within a circle defined by the cylinder bore 2. A lug 12 on the member 10 contacts a shoulder 13 of a recess in the cylinder acting as a stop.
