Abstract

860,797. Centrifugal separators. SEPARATOR A.B. April 3, 1958 [April 3, 1957], No. 10808/58. Class 23 Sludge discharged by the nozzles 4 of a separator rotor 1 is received by an annular channel 5 having an outlet spout 6. The gap between the wall 9 of the channel and the rotor is reduced by a baffle 13 on which are mounted angles 15. The baffle has springs 16 welded to the upper surface, the springs being engaged by a flange 18 of a cover 17. The baffle prevents leakage of sludge from the channel, and removal of the baffle provides space permitting the clearing of the interior of the channel. The channel is held in position by the baffle but may be removed from the frame 3 for cleaning.
