859,534. Corsets. DE LUXE GIRDLECRAFT CO. Inc. Feb. 16, 1959, No. 5258/59. Class 141 A girdle for maternity wear comprises a front panel 22 extending throughout the full depth of the girdle and reinforced by overlapping panels 27, 28 having obliquely disposed upper edges 30, 31 which are connected together where they cross each other at the centre-front. The panel 22 is made of open mesh material which is highly stretchable in the horizontal direction while the reinforcing panels consist of two-way stretch material which is less stretchable. Side panels 14, 15 of two-way stretch material and an upwardly tapering back panel of vertically stretchable material bounded by two triangular inserts of two-way stretch material form the rest of the girdle.
