Abstract

1,156,803. Girdles. ETABS LEJABY. 23 June, 1966 [24 Aug., 1965], No. 28103/66. Heading A3V. A girdle comprises a body 2 of two-way stretch material with vertical edges 6, 7 secured to an inexpansible front lining panel 5 which is also secured to the body 2 along edges 5a, 5b. At the rear the body 2 is lined by an upper horizontally non- expansible panel 8 and a lower vertically non-expansible panel 11. Longitudinally extensible strips 15, 16 attached at their upper ends 19, 20 to a longitudinally extensible edging 3, cross each other over, and are secured to the panel 5 and have their lower ends attached partly to a longitudinally extensible edging 4 and partly to the side edges of the panel 11. In an alternative embodiment (not shown) the panel 11 and strips 15, 16 are formed as one piece. In a modification the strips 15, 16 are assembled at upper and lower ends to form respectively the front inexpansible panel and the rear vertically inexpansible panel 11.
