859,211. Washing-machines. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. March 17, 1958 [March 18, 1957], No. 8476/58. Class 138 (2). A rinsing and spin-drying machine comprises a casing 1 closed by a lid 2, a perforated basket 6 rotatably mounted within the casing and an internal, coaxially disposed rinsing tube 7 having a perforated wall and extending from the bottom of the basket to the upper open end thereof. The lid has a central opening 4 and a filling funnel 3 for the water supply so arranged that the outlet socket 5 of the funnel is directed towards the opening of the rinsing tube. Preferably the angle of the funnel is between 40 and 120 degrees. The lid and funnel may be formed of transparent synthetic material and may be formed in one piece. In a modification the funnel is provided on the outside of the lid.
