Abstract
A deodorant antiperspirant stick comprises a solid, non-perfumed antiperspirant core, comprising soap solidified alcohol and including a soap compatible antiperspirant aluminium salt, surrounded by a solid, deodorant stick body comprising soap-solidified alcohol and including a soap-compatible skin antiseptic deodorant and a perfume. The aluminium salt may be the sodium aluminium chlorhydroxy lactate complex "chlorocel". As antiseptics are mentioned hexachlorophene, bithionol and 3, 4, 4-trichloro-carbanilide. In both the core and the surrounding portion of the stick the solid cologne vehicle may comprise alcohol, a soap e.g. sodium stearate and as plasticizer a polyol e.g. propylene glycol, sorbitol, glycerol, polyethylene glycols and/or fatty acid esters e.g. isopropyl myristate, ispropyl palmitale or stearyl alcohol. In the manufacture of the core it is preferred to mix the aluminium salt and alcohol and heat the mixture before adding the soap and polyols. The complete mixture may be moulded into a core (e.g. cylindrical), placed in the centre of a larger chilled mould and the second mixture heated to 65-70 DEG C. and poured into the mould.
