Abstract

858,241. Drawing apparatus. HARDING Ltd., H. Aug. 12, 1958 [Sept. 3, 1957], No. 27812/59. Class 97(3). A draughting machine has a supporting member 14, Fig. 1, carried by the parallel motion mechanism (not shown), which is drilled with spaced, aligned holes to receive a series of members 23. Each member 23 has a locating surface 24 in the form of a short cylindrical spigot, a stepped base 26 for slidably engaging a slot 10, Fig. 3, in a channel member 6 riveted at 4 to the straight edge 2, and a V block 30 formed at the upper end of spigot 24 for locating the rail 36 which is secured by screws 40 entering a dowel rod 42 in the rail. A clamp 44 having a projection 46 entering slot 10 is used to locate the channel 6 relative to the straight edge 2 before the holes are drilled for the rivet 4.
