Class 52(4) A seat frame has cross-members 1, 2 to which are hinged a rigid base frame 5 of the seat member and the rigid base frame 3 of the back rest respectively, the rear edge of frame 5 and lower edge of frame 3 being connected by spaced pivoted links 7 held substantially horizontal, when the seat is not loaded, by sinuous springs 8. In a modification, Fig. 3, cross-members 9 of frame 3 have their ends bent rearwardly from the back base frame and connected to a marginal wire 10.
