Abstract
857,444. Transformers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Feb. 25, 1959 [March 12, 1958], No. 7949/58. Class 38 (2). The interleaved rectangular silicon steel strips 1 forming the outer limbs and yokes of a shelltype transformer core are clamped between pairs of insulating strips 2 arranged as shown and drawn together by bolts or screws 3 passing inside the core window. The stepped laminated central limb and the windings 5 are held in place by wooden wedges 6. The projecting ends of the strips 2 enable the transformer to be positioned centrally in a casing to obtain an even flow of bitumen or other filler round the core.
