Abstract

856,328. Agriculture implements. HARRISON, McGREGOR & GUEST Ltd. Oct. 13, 1958 [Oct. 11, 1957], No. 31770/57. Class 6(1). A reversible disc plough comprises a plough disc 22 carried by a hanger bracket 70 pivotally mounted on an arm 30 arranged to swing freely through an angle of approximately 180 degrees about a shaft 32. The arm 30 has mounted thereon a shaft 35 having clamped to it a bracket adjustably supporting a peripherally finned depth wheel 37. A spigot 44 is mounted in a channel member 42 and is fixed to guide plates 46 spaced apart by distance pieces in which are mounted rollers 47 which guide a bar member 48 connected to the bracket 70 by means of a pin 49. A tubular pillar 51 is carried by the member 48 and supports a control lever 55 for adjusting the discs and connected to a pawl 65 which engages a ratchet 64. The handle is moved to disengage the pawl and as shown in Fig. 4 the handle is moved anticlockwise to reverse the dies 22, the bar 48 sliding in the rollers 47 as the arm 30 swings through 180 degrees. The disc 23 is moved by means of a parallel linkage 62 connected to a bar 61 attached to the plates 46. A tail wheel 74 is rotated by means of cables 82, 84 joined by springs 85 and attached to pulleys 81, 34, the pulley 34 rotating with the arm 30.
