Abstract
856,071. Refrigerating. LICENCIA TALALMANYOKAT ERTEKESITO VAL LALAT. July 14, 1958 [Dec. 14, 1957], No. 22498/58. Class 29 [Also in Group XXXV] The gaseous cooling medium 2 of a turbo-alternater 1 is cooled in a heat exchanger 3 by water which is cooled in an emergency in an evaporator 10 which is evacuated into the condenser 13 of the main turbine power plant T by a steam ejector. In normal operation, fresh cooling water 4 passes through a heat exchanger 6 and then through the hot end 8 of exchanger 3 to waste. The condensate from condenser 13 and evaporator 10, passes through the cool end 7 of the exchanger 3, and is cooled substantially to its original temperature in exchanger 6 before returning to the evaporator, an ejector 12 serving for de-aeration only. If the fresh cooling water is insufficient, artificial cooling is employed by shunting the exchanger 6 by closing valve 5 and opening valve 14 so that the condensate returns from the exchanger 3 uncooled. Simultaneously, valve 15 is opened to bleed steam from the turbine to ejector 16 to reduce the pressure in the evaporator 10 thus causing increased evaporation and cooling of the coolant, which is then recirculated by pump 11 to cool the generator
