Abstract
855,623. Cycle saddles. BOURGOIS, J. June 25, 1957 [Nov. 13. 1956], No. 19979/57. Class 136(3). A moulded saddle top 1 comprises at its forward end a pocket 4 (Fig. 1) for engaging the forward end of a saddle frame 2 and a plurality of horizontal catches 6 moulded on to and projecting from its lateral and/or rear internal faces for the attachment of the saddle top 1 to a saddle frame 2. A transverse rib 5 serves as a cross-tie connecting the two sides of the saddle top 1. Each catch 6 is formed with an aperture 7 through which a hook 8 can be engaged for attaching the saddle top 1 to the frame 2. The fixing straps of a rear saddle bag may be used as fastening elements passing through apertures 23 (Fig. 10) in lugs 20. The catches may be disposed in two superposed horizontal planes at the sides of the saddle top and connected in pairs by fastening elements 13 (Fig. 8). Alternatively, as shown in Fig. 13 apertures 31, 32 may be provided in the cantle 11 and frame members 10 respectively so that the saddle top 1 may be clipped on by means of studs 33, 34 moulded to the saddle top.
