Abstract
855,497. Children's vehicles. SEBEL & CO. Ltd., D. March 17, 1958 [Jan. 14, 1957], No. 1421/57. Class 136(3). A treadle or pedal operated children's vehicle comprises a framework 1 formed of metal tubing and including a U-shaped frame the legs 3, 4 of which extend forwardly along each side of the vehicle, a backrest 17 formed by an inverted U-shaped member the legs of which are pivoted at their lower end to the framework 1 and a seat 20 pivoted at its rear end on the legs of the member 17 intermediate their length, the seat being provided on each side with a plurality of lengthwise spaced apertures 22 and a connecting element such as a bolt and nut for insertion through a selected one of the plurality of apertures 22 and an aperture 23 in the corresponding frame leg 3 or 4, thereby to permit the distance between the seat and the treadles to be varied. Alternatively, the longitudinally spaced apertures 22 could be provided in the legs 3, 4 of the frame 1, and the flange of the seat 20 would then have a single aperture at each side of the seat which could be brought into register with a selected one of the spaced apertures 22. In a modification the plurality of apertures in the seat, or in the frame leg may be formed so that the vertical position of successive apertures varies to permit the height of the seat to be varied according to its lengthwise adjusted position.
