Abstract
749,475. Motor vehicle frames. THOMPSON, N. V. Feb. 23, 1954 [Sept. 15, 1953], No. 25482/63. Classes 79 (4) and 136 (3). A frame for a motor tricycle or other vehicle comprises a built-up front section and a built-up rear section joined together by a column 1 common to both sections, each section being formed by a pair of upper members and a pair of lower members, each pair of members diverging at an acute angle from one another from a point adjacent the column, the opposite ends of the upper members being spaced apart and meeting the opposite ends of the correspondingly spacedapart lower members. The front section comprises two members 2, 3 attached to the top of the column 1 and diverging from one another (Fig. 4). Similar members 4, 5 diverge from the bottom of the column 1 (Fig. 5). The free ends of the members 4, 5 meet the corresponding members 2, 3 and form attachment points for the front axle 6. The rear section comprises diverging members 7, 8 and 9, 10 at the meeting points of which are formed attachments for the rear axle 11. Auxiliary stays 12 are also provided. The frames may be placed end to end as shown or side by side.
