853,538. Hand shears. WALLACE, E. Dec. 30, 1958 [Feb. 6, 1958], No. 41988/58. Class 30 Grass shears comprise a fixed handle 2 rigid with a stationary blade 10, a movable blade 18 pivotally mounted below the stationary blade, and an operating member 4 pivoted on the handle at 6 and connected to the movable blade by a pull element 32 which slopes downwardly from its pivotal connection at 30 to the operating member 4 to its pivotal connection to a pivot section 28 extending laterally from the movable blade 18 and prevents separation of the blades during cutting. A rear inclined part 48 of the movable blade abuts the stationary blade, a stop 40 abuts the blade in open and closed positions and a cushioned grip 8 is provided.
