Abstract

853,417. Endless belt conveyer framework. CONVEYING DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. Feb. 3, 1959 [Feb. 11, 1958], No. 4368/58. Class 78 (1). A supporting structure for the belt of an endless belt conveyer comprises a plurality of stands spaced apart in a direction longitudinally of the conveyer, each of the stands having means for supporting the upper load-supporting run of the belt and the lower return run of the belt, wherein adjacent stands are joined together by a pair of connecting elements adjustable relatively to the stands in a direction longitudinally of the belt conveyer so that the spacing of adjacent stands may be varied. As shown, each stand comprises a pair of longitudinally extending tubular members 18 connected together by two transverse tubular members 20, 21, the former of which supports a centre roller 24 for the upper run of the belt whilst the latter supports two inclined side rollers 25 for the upper run of the belt. Depending legs 22 are secured to the tubular members 18 and carrying ground-engaging feet 23, which may be telescopically adjustable, at their lower ends. A roller 26 for the lower run of the belt is carried between the legs 22. The connecting elements comprise a pair of tubes 27, each of which is provided at each end with a plurality, e.g. three, of transverse holes 28 with any of which a pin 30, passing through a transverse hole in the adjacent end of each member 18, may engage. Each pin 30 is made captive by a chain 31.
