851,942. Lamp supports. BENNETT, G. Jan. 6, 1959 [Jan. 9, 1958]. No. 837/58. Class 75(3). A table lamp of the type in which a length of cable may be accommodated within a support which carries the lampholder comprises a tube 6 carrying the lampholder 4 and surrounded by a hollow body 1 within which the tube is rotatable so that the cable 12, which passes from the lampholder through holes 13 and 16 in the tube and the body respectively, may be wound on the tube. As shown the body is mounted on a base 2 within which a nut 7, retained on the tube by a pin 9 or a clip, can be tightened to secure the tube against rotation. The base 2 may be integral with or detachable from the body ; alternatively the base may be omitted and the body formed with an aperture in the lower end within which is located the means for securing the tube against rotation.
