Abstract
851,834. Moulding beads. CHELTON (POPPITS) Ltd., and CHARLES, G. R. S. May 5, 1959 [May 5, 1958], No. 14321/58. Class 87(2). [Also in Groups VII and XXV] A mould and core for forming a bead with a socket in which are located a number of resilient members extending from the bottom of the socket to the mouth thereof and disposed away from the peripheral wall of the socket so as to provide an annular space and each member being provided with an undercut portion at the mouth of the socket, comprises a mould 27 having a cavity 28 shaped in accordance with the outer contour of the bead and having a locating bearing 32 through which extends a hollow cylinder 33 into the mould cavity, the radial thickness of which cylinder corresponds to the width of the annular space, a pin 34 extending through and spaced from the cylinder, the end of the pin adjacent the mouth of the socket being shaped to provide the undercut portions of the resilient members, one of which cylinder or pin is provided with axially extending and circumferentially spaced ribs which contact the other part. Plastic material is introduced into the mould by the opening 31. Specification 750,737 is referred to.
