Abstract
851,216. Clocks. HORSTMANN CLIFFORD - MAGNETICS Ltd. May 2, 1958 [May 9, 1957], No. 14736/57. Class 139 The oscillator b, Fig. 1, which may form part of a magnetic escapement of the type disclosed in Specification 742,302, is regulated by an adjustable member comprising a single turn helix c formed on a magnetic body d secured by a grub screw e to a stem f. The surface of the helix lies adjacent one of the poles of the oscillator b. By rotating the stem f the helix surface is moved transversely of said pole to alter the magnetic coupling. The helix may be so constructed as to vary the airgap between it and the associated pole or the helix and pole so shaped as to provide a linear adjustment characteristic. A similar regulating member may be associated with the other pole of the oscillator.
