1,025,214. Magnetic structures. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGSGESELLSCHAFT. Nov. 23, 1962 [Nov. 25, 1961], No. 44396/62. Heading H1H. A magnetic thin film element comprises a base 1 on which is deposited a magnetic thin film 2 of Fe, Co, Ni or alloys thereof, this film being provided with protuberances (as shown stripes 3) or grooves so as to effect magnetic anisotropy. The stripes may be of different material from the main film, or-when grooves are provided-these may be filled with different material. The film and stripes may be produced by vapour deposition. In a modification two sets of grooves at an angle to one another may be provided (Fig. 2, not shown).
