Abstract

850,807. Weighing apparatus. DECOCK, M. P. J. July 9, 1957 [July 19, 1956], No. 21685/57. Class 143 A spring scale comprises three load counterbalancing springs 9 supporting the weigh pan 10 through brackets 12, and an indicating pointer 16 movable by a screw and nut mechanism. As shown in Fig. 3 a rotary screw 19, formed from twisted piano wire, carries the indicator 16 through a collar 22, passes through a stationary nut 23 and is moved axially by a spring plate 20 secured to the weigh pan by a beam 17. A further spring 27 counterbalances the weight of the moving parts and returns the pointer to zero when the pan is unloaded. Nut 23 is rotatable by an adjusting lever 26 to zeroise the scale. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown) the nut is carried by beam 17 and the lower end of the screw is journalled in the base plate 1.
