Abstract

849,215. Valves. EVERED & CO. Ltd. June 5, 1957 [June 6, 1956], No. 17417/56. Class 135. A valve comprises a hollow body 10 of substantially T-shaped formation provided with an integral seating 20, suitably on a tubular extension from the inlet 12, and an interiorly screw threaded housing 13 to receive on an operating member 17 of cup-shaped formation integrally formed valve member 21 and sealing skirt 25. The operating member is also formed with an annular grip portion 18 which surrounds the housing 13 and is fitted with a stop-screw 24 which engages a flange 23 on the housing in the fully open position of the valve to prevent accidental removal of the operating member. The valve parts may be cast in a synthetic resin such as nylon. The sealing skirt 25 may be omitted and the valve member may be provided with a plug-like projection; the tapered side of which engages with the seating.
